I am writing to you Mr. Schumer to let you know that I oppose PIPA and SOPA. These acts curtail freedoms that have helped this country grow into a profoundly innovative, inquisitive, and entrepreneurial nation. In order for the US to continue to prosper, we must be able to listen to, communicate with, and support the great minds among us -- and as we know, great minds are not always in line with great financial wealth. It is increasingly more difficult for intellectuals to have a place in the public debate, as their ideas are often complex and not always in sync with market interests which demand succinct simple products. I ask that you vote against these acts as they are currently written and make a choice to support creative and intellectual growth ahead of accumulated wealth.
