when it comes to Twitter, Ellis is at his worst. It's as if the microblogging service somehow strips his personality of all the irony, evasive wit and cultural intelligence that make his books worth reading. What you get instead is an Ellis boiled down to sickening sludge: vain, shallow, in love with making vatic pronouncements, thoughtlessly judgmental.
